Highlands Rewilding sells much of the 350-hectare Beldorney Estate to the charity Deveron Wildland

Deveron Wildland has the mission of continuing to manage the land for nature restoration and community benefit. A neighbouring landowner has bought the smaller part of the estate.

“We are delighted to have sold the land at Beldorney to Deveron Wildland and another local owner, both of whom wish to continue with land management for nature recovery. We wish them the very best with their efforts to help restore nature. If we are to hit our ambitious targets on reversing biodiversity collapse, as a nation, we are going to need a large number of landowners committed to nature recovery in their land management practices, and at Highlands Rewilding we are pleased to have helped in that direction of travel.” Jeremy Leggett, founder of Highlands Rewilding.
