Bunloit Nature Days - Volunteering - Waxcap Survey

Waxcap Survey

Our grasslands are home to many different species of flora, but if you look closely you will also find various different fungi. Join our Ranger team on these two dates to learn about waxcap mushrooms. An indicator of rare species-rich grasslands, it is important to identify and record there presence. Our surveys are part of a bigger nation-wide survey led by Plantlife.

No previous knowledge of waxcaps is needed. Come along and learn how to identify the different waxcaps and help us record there location. This will provide important knowledge that will feed into how we manage our grasslands.

Meeting place will be at the Bunloit Farmhouse carpark (Grid Ref: NH 50429 25262, or W3W ///waggled.harps.statement).

For further information please get in touch with Beth, Ranger at our Bunloit Estate, beth.harwood@highlandsrewilding.co.uk.
