Bunloit Nature Days - Volunteering - Blackcurrant picking in the forest garden

Blackcurrant picking in the forest garden

The Bunloit Forest Garden will be thriving by August, with herbs and fruit and insects in every corner. Join our Ranger team in the Forest Graden to learn about the manage and propagate our fruit shrubs, and enjoy picking blackcurrants. There will be plenty for everyone to take some home along with some recipes that we have developed.

Last year, our currant bushes provided kilos worth of fruit which was used to make blackcurrant cordial. We are hoping for an equally bountiful harvest this year. There are also loads of wild raspberries that can be harvested at this time.

If you are interested in joining us in picking and feasting on our local Bunloit blackcurrants, then do get in touch. As usual, refreshments will be provided though please bring your own packed lunch.

Meeting place will be at the Bunloit Farmhouse carpark (Grid Ref: NH 50429 25262, or W3W ///waggled.harps.statement).

For further information please get in touch with Beth, Ranger at our Bunloit Estate, beth.harwood@highlandsrewilding.co.uk.
